This is very sad. But Jesus Christ foretold of this: There will come many who are wolves in sheeps clothing. We will know Christians by their works and deeds. Barack Obama claims to be Christian. It is so sad/sick when I think about many Christians probably believe that he is a Christian. It is written that in the end times Many will heap unto themselves prophet’s with lying lips to scratch their itching ears. Is it because of skin color? Barack Obama is still human, but with a different amount of pigmentation in his skin than John McCain. John McCain sounds more like a Christian.

Fakery in Games makes plain China’s contempt for reality

May the truth come out about China and whether or not they have a hidden agenda

Time to clear the air: That’s not smog hovering over Beijing, swallowing entire
office buildings like a mighty python. It’s just “a funny mist,” says the city’s
environmental chief, who insists that the Chinese government has eliminated air
pollution in the capital. And he’s right: By moving its monitoring stations as
far as 40 miles from the city center, Beijing’s air-quality reports read like
Irving Berlin lyrics: Blue skies, smilin’ at me. Nothin’ but blue skies do I see
…
If Berlin ought to be the official balladeer of the Beijing Olympics, the
official currency should be the $3 bill. That’s as in the phrase “phony as …”
From Spielbergian digitized fireworks to Milli Vanilli-esque lip syncing to
let’s-pretend newscasts, these Olympics have been the biggest public exercise in
media-inspired fakery since Orson Welles’ Martians terrorized New
Jersey.
That cute-as-a-button little girl who sang during the Opening
Ceremony? Actually, the voice belonged to another kid, whose big nose and
crooked teeth were deemed unsuitable for the TV cameras. Those crowds of noisy
fans in yellow T-shirts, banging inflatable batons? Government shills, “cheer
squads” recruited to fill all the empty seats left by no-show tourists.

Wow! They stooped that low?

A reporter for The Oregonian in Portland, watching with a crowd in Tiananmen
Square when the real fireworks went off, wrote that they saw only “two tiny
flare-like blasts pop in the sky, followed by a lot of nothing.”

Literally nothing at the Olympics is too important or too trivial for the
Chinese to counterfeit. On the high end is free speech. China’s totalitarian
government swore it would permit protests and demonstrations during the Games,
albeit only at three designated parks distant from Olympic venues. But
apparently there’s been a sudden burst of public contentment just in time for
the Olympics; the parks are deserted, and Chinese authorities can’t remember if
they’ve issued any permits for demonstrations.

So they can’t even remember if they issued permits for demonstrations? Is that why during the Olympics they have a police staff of 150,000? Who would have been demonstrating and about what? Would those be people who want the whole world to know what China is really about? May the Lord Jesus Christ bless those demonstrators. For it is written: that “everything done in darkness will be made manifest in light.”

But much of the rest of the Olympic fakery reflects less venality than a willful
contempt for reality, a belief that the world can be remade with airbrushes and
Photoshop. The Chinese, from the beginning, saw the Olympics as an exercise in
image control, to the point that they originally hired Steven Spielberg to help
oversee the production.

Beijing Olympics: Murdered American was volleyball coach’s relative

Were these people Christians? Everytime I’ve watched the Olympics and seen somebody win and be interviewed I never hear anyone giving glory to Jesus Christ. So are these people non-Christians, Christians that have forgotten who gave these people the strength to endure and ability to win even many times by one second, or are they being told for their safety to not mention the name of Jesus Christ?

Todd Bachman and his wife Barbara, who was seriously wounded in the attack, were
stabbed at the city’s 13th-century Drum Tower monument. Their daughter
Elisabeth, the wife of head indoor volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon,
witnessed
the attack but escaped unhurt.
The lone Chinese attacker
subsequently
committed suicide by jumping from the second storey of the
tower. The motive for
the murder remains a mystery, especially since it is
rare for foreigners in
China to suffer from violent crime.
Mr and Mrs
Bachman’s Chinese guide was
also injured in the attack, which happened
despite high security across the
capital, where more than 150,000 police and
other personnel were on patrol.
The violence contrasted with the joy of
Friday, when four billion people
worldwide – and 91,000 in the Bird’s Nest
stadium – saw the most dazzling
opening ceremony in the history of the Games

I wonder if Christians are safe
there?

…The murder happened the day before President George W Bush was due
to
meet President Hu Jintao of China.
Officials from the US embassy were
dispatched to hospital, where the two injured survivors were taken by
ambulance.
A spokesman for the US Olympic Committee later described Mrs
Bachman’s injuries
as “serious and life threatening”.
People at the many
restaurants and shops
in the area claimed not to have seen the incident or
to know anything about it,
raising suspicions that they had been ordered not
to speak by the police.
“No country is 100 per cent safe. These things can
happen anywhere,” Ge Sang
Lamu Cuo, the owner of a nearby Tibetan craft shop
said.
The US embassy said
it would not be issuing new guidelines on
safety to its citizens in Beijing in
the wake of the killing. “I think that
this is an isolated incident and has
nothing to do with the Olympics,” Susan
Stevenson, the press attaché, said.
“China remains one of the world’s safest
countries for foreigners.”

Would they say that foreigner Christians are safe their yet their own
Chinese citizens seem to be punished if they become Christian?

Bernie Mac memorial service draws celebrities, thousands of fans

So young, but Jesus Christ knows what’s best. Are you ready to meet Jesus? CHICAGO _ Thousands of fans of late comedian Bernie Mac streamed into a South
Side memorial service Saturday to hear Hollywood and political celebrities
remember a Chicagoan who made people laugh on both TV and the big
screen.
Mac’s fellow “Original Kings of Comedy” brought the house down as
they broke down in tears, unable to contain their grief. In the same sentence,
Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and D.L. Hughley would flip a joke, causing
the crowd to scream in laughter.
“This dude is a very popular guy,” Cedric
said of Mac. “You know y’all were like ‘let me get four tickets to the funeral!’
He’s still the hottest ticket in town.”…The Rev. Jesse Jackson told the
audience “Bernie Mac is a serious funnyman” who loved his family and cared about
the tomorrow’s youth. Jackson recalled that Mac recently told students at Crane
High School that they should “live above their circumstances” and not
“self-destruct.”
“Between birth and death is a dash,” Jackson said. “But
between that dash between birth and death, he made a statement.”

Hey Jackson’s comments sounds like something the owner of Market America said years ago.

Mac, a 50-year-old funnyman, died a week ago from complications due to pneumonia
after being hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mac suffered from
sarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in tissue, most
often in the lungs….Vera Gordon said she came to pay tribute to the comedian
who made her mother, who suffers from dementia, laugh.
“She watched the
‘Bernie Mac Show’ every night,” Vera Gordon said of her mother, Margaret
Berston, 79. “She would just sit there and laugh. You could see the sadness when
I told her. I came here to represent my mother.”
She said Mac had a gift for
highlighting and shining humor on life’s most simple interactions and
challenges. “He was very special,” she said. “It’s like God sent him here on a
mission. He left something here that will never be forgotten.”

This is good.

A young man once came to see me in Jerusalem. He had an unusually happy disposition, so I asked him what’s his secret. He told me:
“When I was 11 years old, I received a gift of happiness from God.
“I was riding my bicycle when a strong gust of wind blew me onto the ground, into the path of an oncoming truck. The truck ran over me and cut off my leg.
“As I lay there bleeding, I realized that I might have to live the rest of my life without a leg. How depressing! But then I realized that being depressed won’t get my leg back. So I decided right then and there not to waste my life despairing.
“When my parents arrived at the hospital they were shocked and grieving. So I told them: ‘I’ve already adapted. Now you also have to get used to this.’
“Ever since then, I see my friends getting upset over little things: their bus came late, they got a bad grade on a test, somebody insulted them. But I just enjoy life.”
At age 11, this young man attained the clarity that it is a waste of energy to focus on what you’re missing, and that the key to happiness is to take pleasure in what you have.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it?
Way #27 is sameach bi’chelko - literally “satisfaction with one’s portion.” Happiness is achievable. So why are so many people unhappy? We lack the right tools.

In war-torn Afghanistan, the number of AIDS cases is on the rise

People in America have AIDS. I’ve heard of Africa having a high number of AIDS, but I thought people would like to know, it’s in Afghanistan, too.
The addict is 28, but sharp cheekbones and tiny wrinkles around his lips make him look much older. His is the face of AIDS in Afghanistan, a conservative Islamic country that has been reluctant to acknowledge the problem the disease poses. A former refugee in Iran, he said he tested positive in March and already has full-blown AIDS. His fate is fairly certain. There is no treatment for AIDS in Afghanistan yet.
…But after the Taliban fled, refugees addicted to heroin and opium returned from Iran and Pakistan, some bringing HIV with them. More and more Afghans who never left the country are now using drugs and injecting them as the heroin trade booms in the post-Taliban era. A 2006 survey showed that 3 percent of 464 surveyed intravenous drug users tested positive for HIV. Although there were cases of HIV before in Afghanistan _ the first was registered in 1989, from a blood transfusion outside the country _ only a handful were identified. The Taliban health minister insisted in 1998 there was no AIDS in Afghanistan, because it was against Islam.
…The conditions could be ripe for many more cases, especially given the average Afghan’s ignorance of the disease. Nationwide, the medical infrastructure is rudimentary at best, and many doctors know nothing about AIDS.
