Supporting US Troops
In California. San Bernardino -
More than 30,000 items have been donated by San Bernardino County residents to support troops who are spending the holidays in Iraq and Afghanistan, away from their families.
That number is expected to rise to more than 50,000 items as county staff continues to process donations.
It’s all part of the Support Our Troops 2007 campaign, initiated by the county two months ago.
“Being a veteran of a foreign war myself, I know how much it means to have strong support on the home front,” said 1st District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt, whose district includes the entire Victor Valley.
