Iran Hostage Crisis grows.

“With Iran rejecting British demands to release the 15 sailors it took hostage on March 23, a rescue operation would carry high risks and would likely require coordination on the ground, according to interviews with former special-forces and intelligence officials.

At the same time the successful rescue of the seamen could bring big rewards, including helping the embattled British premier, Tony Blair, politically and dissuading the Iranians from hostage taking in the future.

The already tense situation escalated yesterday when Iran’s government reneged on its earlier promise to release Faye Turney, the one woman among the Royal Marines abducted last week. London has insisted its seamen were seized in Iraqi territorial waters, while Mrs. Turney appeared on Iranian television reading what appeared to be a forced confession of guilt.

In Washington, American officials were emphasizing alternatives to freeing the British other than a daring commando-style raid. One such official said he foresaw a series of escalating sanctions and censure in the coming days to pressure Iran to release the hostages. These would include economic sanctions, a possible embargo, and efforts such as a blockade to prevent Iran from importing refined gasoline. While Iran is one of the world’s leading exporters of petroleum, it still lacks refining capacity to turn oil into gasoline. “

Can UK bring out the “Big GUn

and can some please shut Rosie “piggy” O’donnel up.

The co-hosts of “The View” again discussed the Iranian British hostage situation on the March 29 edition. Rosie O’Donnell trusted the Iranians more than the British and Americans, and the discussion evolved into more Rosie rants against alleged Bush administration tyranny and for the first time on “The View,” Rosie ranted on her September 11 conspiracy theories .

this is “de Ja vu” all over.

What’s really going on underneath them willow trees in Madison WI

Lots ..

Willow trees lining the Mazomanie nude beach on the Wisconsin River have been removed to reduce alleged sexual activity and provide more sun for nesting turtles, the state Department of Natural Resources says.
“These willows just became a cruising area for people looking for sexual activity out there,” Steve Colden, the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway’s property manager, said Monday in an interview with The Capital Times of Madison.
The nude beach has been used by naturists for more than 50 years.
Bob Morton, executive director of the Naturist Action Committee, said his Oshkosh-based group approved of the DNR’s attempts to control sexual activity on the beach.
“If there is overt sexual activity in public, it jeopardizes the beach,” he said.
“Naturists do know the difference between nudity and sex and we wish everyone did.”
Colden said cutting the willow trees would also help soft-shell and hard-shell turtles which nest on the beach. A DNR biologist noticed a decrease in the number of nesting turtles because the beach had become too shaded by the willows, he said.
A wooded area next to the beach will also be closed to the public from April 1 to September 15 to prevent sexual activity from moving there, Colden said.

Ralph Ovadal, pastor of Pilgrims Covenant Church in Monroe, and a small group of his followers started protesting at the beach in 1998. He was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $1,000 for harassing a sunbather in 2001. ahh the hate crime

so is it really bad for gay sex and good for turtles? you decide , I don’t want to be labeled “Homophobe”, or go to Jail for hate crimes.

NBC Universal to offer social networking features on NBC.com

It looks like the latest trend for web based companies and establishments is to add a social networking aspect to their website.

The latest to announce this feature addition is Media Company NBC Universal who is adding social networking and video sharing functions to its NBC.com Internet site.

With this, the company would come in direct competition to established players in this segment including Google owned YouTube.com and News Corp. owned MySpace.com.

The company said that the users of this service would be able to share NBC videos with friends and post them on other blogs or social networking sites. They are allowed to upload and share their own videos and photos, create public profiles about themselves and build fan groups around their favorite shows.

Iran making Threats

France’s U.N. Ambassador Jean-Marc de La Sabliere said “a large majority” of the 15 nations on the council support the resolution.
“I think we will be in a position to make some concrete proposals and changes in order to reach a unanimous Security Council,” he said after talks late Wednesday in New York. Full agreement is important because it would give the vote more weight.

Russia: Where’s my money Iran?

uh oh.
Russia has informed Iran that it will withhold nuclear fuel for Iran’s nearly completed Bushehr power plant unless Iran suspends its uranium enrichment as demanded by the UN Security Council, European, American and Iranian officials said. NYT

unless you don’t pay your bills

” Recently, however, Moscow and Tehran have engaged in a public argument about whether Iran has paid its bills relating to the plant, which may explain Russia’s apparent shift. The ultimatum may also reflect an increasing displeasure on Moscow’s part with Iran over its refusal to stop enriching uranium at its facility at Natanz.”

Meanwhile..

South Africa guts big power deal on sanctions
According to a report by Reuters, South Africa wants to drop all key UN sanctions proposals against Iran that were negotiated by major powers, including an arms embargo and financial bans on an Iranian state bank and the Revolutionary Guards.

Aljazeera: France asked Israel to topple Assad

———————
Le’ resistance’!

(AlJazeera)

Ahead of the launch of Israel’s war on Lebanon last summer, French President Jacques Chirac sent a message to Israel via a secret channel, expressing full support for a military assault against Lebanon, and suggesting that Israel invades Syria and topple its President Bashar Al Assad.
According to the Army Radio, the message delivered from the French President blamed Syria for the political turmoil in the region, citing its support to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
Speaking during an interview with Army Radio, former Israeli ambassador to France Nissim Zvilli said that “former prime minister Ariel Sharon had explained to the French in the past that Iran is the main one responsible for Hezbollah’s armament in Lebanon, while Chirac saw Syria as the primary one responsible for the matter,”

Hizbullah’s plan

Hizbullah Will Not Need a Large-Scale War. It Will Be Able to Walk into Palestine, Once the Americans Leave Iraq.

So Hizbullah will just walk in to Palastine eh? I think not.

here you can watch the clip

Here is the transcript below: or click here

Following are excerpts from an address by Abdallah Safialdeen, Hizbullah’s representative in Iran, which aired on Channel 4, Iranian TV, on March 4, 2007.

Abdallah Safialdeen:
“The day that Hizbullah won the war shaped the future of the region. It led to what we are witnessing today: America’s actions, the domestic problems of the Zionist regime, the confusion of Europe… The Europeans are very confused now, and don’t know what to do. The horse that they put their money on – Israel – can no longer fulfill the role it played in the past. America has not had any success anywhere in the region. In our opinion, the harbinger of this lack of success was the victory of Hizbullah, the bitter defeat of the Zionist regime, and its incompetence in the region. You should know that… Do you know what an American withdrawal from Iraq will mean? It will mean that Israel will lose its support.
It will mean that the Lebanese Hizbullah will not need a large-scale war in order to enter Palestine. Hizbullah will be able to simply walk into Palestine. Rest assured that the day the American forces leave Iraq, the Israelis will leave the region along with them. What was one of the reasons for Olmert’s recent visit to America? He went there in order to say to the Democrats: “Don’t say that the American army will leave Iraq, because this would mean the annihilation of the Zionist regime.”
This is because the annihilation of the Zionist regime has begun. Like some of our friends say, Palestine is no longer a problem for us, because the Americans will be forced to leave Iraq. With or without a war against Iran, they will be forced to do so. The moment they leave Iraq, you, the Muslims of the world, can walk into Palestine, because Israel will no longer exist. It will be over and done with. Even with America’s [help], Israel could not do a thing.

The Americans will be kicked out of the region, without accomplishing anything. The American forces will be kicked out of the region, in disgrace, humiliation, and defeat. Therefore, this victory was very important. It was a landmark in the history of the Islamic world and the entire region.
