Fidelity Mortgage

Fidelity mortgage

I looked them up online after they doubled the closing costs on the Better Business Bureau, they didn’t have any negative report, but I reported them in Dec. of 2006 so beware of Fidelity Mortgage. They couldn’t be sure of what the total costs would be to refinance with them but when I persisted on how much it would be the guy said no more than 3-4% of the the total loan (so that would have been no more than 2800 dollars). We received a piece of mail from them saying that we would have no out of pocket costs, when I questioned the guy about that and why did we have to pay for an appraisal he said that’s not considered out of pocket. What?! Ummm we had to pay for it before we closed and how is that not out of pocket. When I asked the manager about that he said “Did you respond to a phone call or the piece of mail” So okay. Well, we were told the appraisal would be $350 and if the appraiser showed up and we cancelled they would charge us $100 just for coming, after the appraiser was done, they told me they needed a check for $380. Ummm I almost told the people never mind because when money is tight $30 makes a difference, you know what I mean? Well, on the day closing they called to go over the closing costs and final numbers. The closing costs were almost doubled: $5400! Wow.
We drove 3 hours home to meet the guy to close with. It was very hot outside (like 90 degrees or something) we had no air conditioning in our van, 4 little kids. It was hot. We were supposed to get 6000-7000 cash out and the man at Fidelity said “Sorry we have to cancel because your payoff with your current mortgage company is different- he told me got the pay off for the date were going to close, but he filed for the payoff on 6-22-06 when we first started working with him, so our cash out was going to be in the high $3000-low $4000 range. He said he needed the new payoff before we could close. We drove all that way. And he cancelled on us because he lied and didn’t do his job. The Lord worked that one out for us and paying $5400 in closing costs to get $3000-$4000 didn’t seem right. Truthfully, I disclosed some personal information to the guy at Fidelity Mortgage and his boss, and they thought were were desperate and we did after all spend 7 weeks with them would we want to wait another 3-4 weeks for our money with another company? Well, we chose to go with another company, which told us about a Good Faith Estimate that it’s required by law (you can look it up on the internet) to be sent to the customer within 3 days breaking down all the costs for closing, points, everything, (it is an estimate so it could be a little off but not by thousands). When I questioned the guy at Fidelity Mortgage about that (they called us and called us trying to get us to come back to them) the guy laughed and said there is no such thing as a Good Faith Estimate. What?! Then when I told the manager that we were going to report them the the OTS (Bank regulator) he said we “got a Good Faith Estimate and we chose not to look at it, it was sent in an e-mail with a link and we had to have opened the link to print something out, we had to go to the page enter in a Username and a Password and then go to another page and enter in a Username and a Password.” Ummm don’t you think I would have remembered that and my husband doesn’t handle stuff like that. Word to the wise don’t use Fidelity Mortgage, whenever you refinance do not disclose too much personal stuff to the banker/broker (like I need some money because somebody died in my family, I’m being sued and need to settle, or anything) or they may use it against you no matter how trustworthy someone may seem because the guy at Fidelity Mortgage seemed pretty trustworthy, but turned many a wrong turns with us.
We ended up going with a broker named Jason Mulder at Ideal Financial, he got us a way better rate than the direct lender at Fidelity Mortgage was going to give us.
May the Lord Jesus Christ, guide you with wisdom in all things including financial.

TeleChek

What/who is Telechek?

Did you know that when your check is ran through a TeleChek system at a store or anywhere else, if TeleChek says it’s good, then they pay the company? Well, we found out the hard way, we were going to refinance with a company called Fidelity Mortgage and they said we had to go through an appraisal firm named LSI. When I asked the banker, we were working with at Fidelity Mortgage, how much the closing costs were going to be (before we got too far into the process because we’re not going to pay 4,000-5,000 dollars for closing costs) he told me no more than 3-4% of the total loan (which wouldn’t have been more than 2,800 dollars) we went ahead, it took 7 weeks (because we had to pay for the appraisal and needed to save for that). Well, on closing day they double the closing costs to 5,400 dollars so we said no way. Then we stopped payment on the check to LSI because my husband got the feeling they were trying to scam us, and sure enough when I called LSI the recording said if you are working with Fidelity (when questioned they said they’re two separate companies. Yeah. Uh-huh?
So now we’re stuck paying $380 for an appraisal Fidelity said would cost $350 (we found out when the company was collecting for LSI-which when I last spoke to that Independent company they said they never were paid their fee of $250. Yeah. 380-250=where did the rest of the money go? Plus, we were charged a $30 non-sufficient fund fee. I just have a problem with the wisdom of Telechek…pay a company that they don’t know, even if they’re crooked. They are the man in the middle when they don’t have to be, unless that’s their business.
We shouldn’t have to pay TeleChek they paid the people, I don’t know why maybe that’s their business. If it’s the Lord’s will we will pay TeleChek, but I’m thinking I don’t know if it’s the Lord’s Will, because TeleChek sent us a collection notice and it said to give them a call to a long-distance number, so I called and it’s automated- Option 1 To pay this bill or to verify it’s been paid, press 1 or Option 2 if you have a dispute, bankruptcy, forgery or anything else, press 2. So I pressed 2 and no one answered. So I looked up online for a phone number tried two different 800 numbers and it lead back to the same Option 1 and 2. There is no contact via e-mail info for customers only for merchants. Well, perhaps they don’t want to get paid. I don’t know, but may the Lord be glorified.
We went to a Dollar Tree which ran our check through TeleChek, too, (we didn’t know before we spent two hours shopping there-that they use TeleChek to verify checks) and our check was denied.
Well that’s what I have to say about Telechek.
May God Bless you all in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Stupid Americans?

Stupid Americans?

As you can see the popularity of American foreign policy has declined dramatically and I hate to admit that “The American people” have no idea on whats going on outside they’re own country. Recently old friend of mine name Darek from Poland sent me this video of random Americans off the streets performing their hideous act.

Putin: One Cold War is enough

Putin: One Cold War is enough

Well , Mr. Putin, what do you think?

MUNICH, Germany - Pentagon chief Robert Gates responded Sunday to Vladimir Putin’s assault on U.S. foreign policy by saying “one Cold War is enough” and that he would go to Moscow to try to reduce tensions. Gates also sought more allied help in Afghanistan.

He delivered his first speech as Pentagon chief at a security conference in Germany and then flew to Pakistan to discuss fears of a renewed spring offensive by Taliban fighters in neighboring Afghanistan.

Pakistan, a close U.S. ally in the fight against terrorism, has faced charges that the Taliban militia stage attacks from Pakistan against Afghan government troops and NATO- and U.S.-led coalition troops.

Gates’ rebuke of the Russian president relied on humor and some pointed jabs.

“As an old Cold Warrior, one of yesterday’s speeches almost filled me with nostalgia for a less complex time. Almost,” Gates said. Then, as the audience chuckled, the defense secretary said he has accepted Putin’s invitation to visit Russia.

“We all face many common problems and challenges that must be addressed in partnership with other countries, including Russia,” said Gates. “One Cold War was quite enough.”

In his speech Saturday, Putin blamed U.S. foreign policy for inciting other countries to seek nuclear weapons to defend themselves from an “almost uncontained use of military force.

CAIR: Offended by Rubber Duck

On February 7, the “Newsday.com” web site carried a story about college
employee’s being fired over a video they posted that insults Islam:

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-lipost0208,0,3675967.story

The video, by five student resident hall assistants (RA’s), mocked real-life
terrorists by holding a rubber duck, “Pete”, as hostage. The five spoke in
exaggerated accents, wore terrorist garb, and were generally insensitive to
Muslim terrorists.

How do we know that they were insensitive to Muslim terrorists?

Simple: The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) got involved.

In the words of CAIR’s spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper: “It’s something that needs to
be addressed”.

Really? Five students mock Muslim terrorists (We assume they are mocking
Muslims, else why would Hooper get involved?), and this is “something that needs
to be addressed?”

Parroting CAIR’s attitude, university provost Joseph Shenker said that student
RA’s “…function as role models and as teachers for the other students…”We expect
them to be instructing our students on being sensitive regarding all groups.”

There we have it. Student RA’s are expected to be sensitive to all groups;
including Muslim terrorists.

Shenker continues: “I think the tape was an insult to the victims and families
involved in hostage situations.”

If so, why didn’t Newsday.com find a beheading victim to interview?

Would it be because they are all dead at the hands of Muslim terrorists?

As to the families, there were none mentioned in the article. Even so, we find
it very hard to believe that anyone would mind mocking Muslim terrorists.

Except CAIR

Imagine that!

Walmart Online Movie Download is open

Walmart Online Movie Download is open

O boy I have been waiting for this Wal-mart online movie thingy.

A “beta” version of the online video store, set to debut Tuesday, will sell digital versions of about 3,000 films and television episodes from all the major studios and some TV networks, including FOX Broadcasting. Wal-Mart will not initially offer content from ABC, CBS or NBC, although the company said it hopes to add shows from those networks.

The nation’s largest retailer is using its buying power to beat the prices charged by other download services in many cases, offering films from $12.88 to $19.88 and individual TV episodes for $1.96 — 4 cents less than apple’s Inc.’s iTunes Store.

Apple charges less for some films sold on iTunes — $12.99 when pre-ordered and during the first week of sale, or $14.99 afterward. But it only carries films from two studios, The Walt Disney Co. and Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Studios.

ummm……….

Apple’s pricing has also caused scuffles between studios and major retailers, including Wal-Mart and Target Corp. The retailers don’t want studios to sell digital copies of films cheaper than the wholesale price of physical DVDs.

Wal-Mart’s online store will sell older titles starting at $7.50, compared with the $9.99 charged by iTunes.

Jeffrey Dahmer responsible for Adam Walsh Death?

Jeffrey Dahmer responsible for Adam Walsh Death?

(HT. suitablyflip.com)

Adam Walsh is the son of John Walsh host of “Americas Most Wanted” and Endorser of “DNA Life Print ” and founder of thesafeside.com.

An FBI agent is attempting to re-open the case of necrophilic, cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, from whom the world was finally delivered courtesy of a skull-bashing fellow prison inmate 12 years ago, in connection with the 25-year old unsolved murder of Adam Walsh, son of “America’s Most Wanted” host John Walsh.

6-year-old Adam had disappeared from a mall in south Florida in 1981. His head was recovered weeks later by fisherman, but his body was never found.

Dahmer has apparently been a suspect in the case since 1991, but because John Walsh was a well-known figure by then, prosecutors thought the link might be so sensational that they’d never be able to seat a jury for Dahmer’s trial. While Walsh was told of the possible link, it’s never before been made public. _read more
