Idiotic Sean Penn

IDIOTIC SEAN PENN

What is up with all the washed up actors now in days, He gave me another reason not to pay attention to one of his movies. Remember this is the same guy that thought marrying Madonna was the coolest thing ever. Now he has a nerve to call for an impeachment of the President of U.S.A. Foxnews has it.

Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn called for the impeachment of President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney in an impassioned speech Monday night in New York.

The occasion was Penn’s winning the first annual Christopher Reeve First Amendment Award from the Creative Coalition, a non-partisan advocacy and lobbying group founded by New York actors such as Reeve, Ron Silver and Susan Sarandon more than a decade ago.

Penn was one name on a long list of honorees that included Branford Marsalis, Harvey Keitel and Marcia Gay Harden. He was introduced by PBS’ Charlie Rose, who was preceded by Matthew Reeve, the documentary-making eldest son of Christopher Reeve and Gae Exton.

Time Mag. Person of the Year…You?

Holy Crap, so who ? the one and only “YOU” So is You according to Time? well not the ordinary You, is the “new Digital Democracy. yea so even the Iranian president gets the medal, yup uhuh. ABC news (AP) has it

By LARRY McSHANE

NEW YORK Dec 17, 2006 (AP)— Congratulations! You are the Time magazine “Person of the Year.”

The annual honor for 2006 went to each and every one of us, as Time cited the shift from institutions to individuals citizens of the new digital democracy, as the magazine put it. The winners this year were anyone using or creating content on the World Wide Web.

“If you choose an individual, you have to justify how that person affected millions of people,” said Richard Stengel, who took over as Time’s managing editor earlier this year. “But if you choose millions of people, you don’t have to justify it to anyone.”

The magazine did cite 26 “People Who Mattered,” from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il to Pope Benedict XVI to the troika of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

And Stengel said if the magazine had decided to go with an individual, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was the likely choice. “It just felt to me a little off selecting him,” Stengel said.

Hey they missed out “Hugo Loco Chavez” because he can lure you with his Dynamic speech…ahhh so warm. (not)

xmas under Sharia

Xmas under Sharia law

So what it is like under Sharia Law? one example, Christmas.

“According to confirmed reports from inside of Iran, 14 ex-muslims who converted to christianity were arrested a week ago in cities of Karaj, Tehran and Rasht.

Reports from US backed RadioFarda.com tell us that these new christians were trying to hold religious gathering to celebrate christmas and they are charged with converting from Islam to christianity and according the sharia law, the penalty for such act is death.

Their bibles, religious books & symbols, CDs and other personal stuff were seized by the authorities.

The families of these detainees staged a rally in front of the judicial ministry but their peaceful gathering was met with brutal actions of the ministry of intelligence agents.

The name of the christian detainees are:

In city of Rasht: Shaheen Taghizadeh, Yosef Noorkhani, Mathias Hagh-Nejad, Parviz Khalaj, Muhammad Belyad, Peyman Salarvand, Sohrab Sayadi, Mr. Davood and Mr. Amin.

City of Tehran: Mrs. Shirin Sadegh, Mr. Behrooz Sadegh, Mr. Hamid-Reza Tolou’ee

City of Karaj: Mr. Behnam Irani & Mr. Bahman Irani (brothers)

The families of these above mentioned detainees ask all people from all around the world to raise their concern with their governments and help secure the release of their loved ones from the jails of the Islamic regime of Iran. “

I think “death” is the punishment if you convert to Christianity, ah I could be making this up, I think I’m just suffering from “islamophobia“.

So I wonder what extremist will do…hmmm

this is “Little Mosque on the Prairie” by: Julia ward of Tvsquad

How’s this for the premise to a sitcom - a young Muslim man
abandons his burgeoning law career to become the new imam (Muslim prayer leader)
of a small Canadian town called Mercy? When we meet said imam, he’s in line at
the airport talking on his cell. “If Dad thinks that’s suicide, so be it. This
is Allah’s plan for me.” Cue security.

Imams real purpose

The real purpose behind the imam publicity blitz,” by Katherine Kersten in the Star Tribune:

On Dec. 1, a curious report on the grounded-imams incident at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport appeared on the website of the Iranian Quran News Agency. The report quoted extensively from Madhi Bray, executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation. The foundation is the American arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, “the world’s most influential Islamic fundamentalist group,” according to the Chicago Tribune.

Bray’s initial statement about the incident had an all-American, see-you-in-court ring. He demanded “large financial compensation for the imams,” adding, “We want US Airways and any other airline displaying this type of behavior against Muslims to be hit where it hurts, the pocketbook.”

The report echoed statements made by the imams themselves. Omar Shahin, their spokesman, has portrayed the incident in a way that’s consistent with a lawsuit and a public relations offensive. He’s called for a Jesse Jackson-style boycott of US Airways, and applied classic civil-rights rhetoric to the incident: “This is prejudice; this is obvious discrimination,” the Star Tribune quoted him as saying. “I cannot change the color of my skin,” he told Newsweek.

But the report on the Iranian website, which has appeared on a variety of Muslim websites worldwide, had a larger primary focus. After the imams incident, it quoted Bray as saying Muslims want “new, broad-sweeping legislation that will extract even larger financial and civil penalties for any airline that participates in racial and religious profiling.”

The report is optimistic that Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, will lend his support to new legislation. Ellison, it says, has expressed his opposition to “such racial and religious profiling.” Ellison, through a spokesman, declined to comment.

One piece of legislation in the works is the End Racial Profiling Act. It is an important priority of Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, whose district includes one of the largest Muslim populations in the country. Conyers introduced the bill in 2004 and 2005, but it went nowhere. Now the alignment of forces may be changing. Conyers will probably be chairman of the House Judiciary Committee when the new Democratic-controlled Congress convenes next month.

Nancy Pelosi, who called herself a “proud” cosponsor of the Profiling Act in 2004, is the incoming House speaker. And in January, Ellison, who represents the district where the imams incident occurred, will take his seat in Congress.

The act, although it doesn’t as yet impose large penalties, would bar any federal, state or local law enforcement agency from “relying, to any degree, on race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion in selecting which individuals to subject to routine or spontaneous investigatory activities.” That would include questioning, searches and seizures.

One of the act’s central features is its definition of illegal profiling. Under it, if airport security personnel question passengers who are disproportionately Muslim or of Middle Eastern descent, this alone would constitute a presumptive violation of the law. Law enforcement agencies would bear the burden of proving that discrimination was not the cause.

Woul Jesus Shop at Walmart?

WWJS
(
where would Jesus Shop?) Walmart?

Foxnews has it.

LITTLE ROCK — A new television ad by the union-backed group WakeUpWalMart.com features a pastor asking, “Would Jesus shop at Wal-Mart? Should you?”

Accompanying the ad, is a letter to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Chief Executive officer Lee Scott that was signed by more than 130 clergy members. The letter asks WAL-Mart (WMT) to provide a “higher standard for its employees and their Families,” which the letter says would reflect “the best of Christian values.”

WakeUpWalMart.com provided the ad to The Associated Press on Wednesday and said the spot is to run in 43 media markets.

Pastor Joe Phelps of Highland Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., asks in the ad, “can we continue to shop at Wal-Mart without insulting God?” He lists allegations that Wal-Mart has violated child labor laws and engaged in gender-based discrimination and says half the company’s 1.3 million U.S. employees aren’t covered under the company health plan.

Sound like they’re getting “bucks on Jesus ” too.

Fastest Growing Religion? ..a myth

Fastest Growing Religion? a Myth
(say it ain’t so)

“I have never accepted the claim that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Those who feed us with statstics are Americans who do not see the whole picture.

The major problem in Africa and Asia is documentation. But those who have the culture of documentation (America and Europe) use wrong statistics to compute their figures about the Christian growth. They assess the growh of Islam by the noise of Muslims all over the world. Secondly, through the exaggerated figures by Islamic countries. Christian missionaries compound the issue, maybe in an attempt to get more people involved in reaching Muslims.

Islam is ‘growing’ only by ‘biological evangelization’ - am explosion in childbearing. Secondly, Muslims are migrating to the West. They settle down and begin to build mosques all over the place. Anywhere they find themselves in the West, thney begin to make noise, agitate for recognition, protesting for rights and privileges they do not have in their countries. Such noise gives the impression that they are growing so fast!

The intense persecution of Christians and the introduction of the Sharia legal system in the northern part of Nigeria, for example, is simply a reaction to the phenomenal growth of Christianity in Africa, particularly, the rate at which Muslims are getting converted to Christianity. The Sharia makes it illegal for a Muslim to convert to Christianity, and to make evangelization of a Muslim a criminal offence punishable by death (for both the Christian evangelist and the Muslim).

No doubt, Muslims are making efforts to spread Islam, but we must get the facts right. Ther is no week that thousands of Muslims are not converted to Christinity in Africa. That is major cause for the anger of the Muslims in Nigeria.

Claims to the fastest growing religion

Buddhism

The Australian Bureau of statistics claims Buddhism to be the fastest growing religion in Australia in terms of percentage gain with a growth of 79.1% for the period 1996 to 2001 (200,000→358,000)

Falun Gong

No reliable data is available for the number of adherents of Falun Gong but as this religion was only established in 1992 most of the growth must have been by conversion Estimates for the number of adherents for 1999 range from 2 million to 100 million.

Christianity

As Christianity is the largest religion in the world, any increase in the world population will give Christianity a greater absolute number of new members.

  • The U.S. Center for World Mission claimed a growth rate of 2.3% for the period 1970 to 1996, (slightly higher than the world population growth rate at the time). This increased the percentage of Christians from 33.7% to 33.9%.
  • The World Christian Encyclopaedia estimates that Christianity receives 2,500,000 converts a year.[1]

Islam

Most of the data for Islam are based on the higher than average birth rates and consequent population growth of Muslim countries and communities, along with the effects of immigration.

  • The World Almanac Book of Facts 1935 estimated 209,020,000 Muslims in the World. The Readers Digest Almanac 1983, estimated 700,000,000, Comparing these two estimates gives an average annual growth of 5% or 10,228,750 for Islam over these 48 years[5] But note that this value is unreliable as these rates are calculated from two separate sources, which may have used different counting rules.
  • A United Nations’ survey showed that between 1989 and 1998, Europe’s Muslim population grew by more than 100 percent, due mainly to the effects of immegration. Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance] have an unsourced claim of 2.9% per year
  • The World Christian Encyclopaedia estimates that Islam receives 865,000 converts a year.[2]
  • In 2006 countries with a Muslim majority have an average population growth rate of 1.8% per year (when weighted by percentage Muslim and population size)[6]. This compares with a world population growth rate of 1.12% per year. [7]

HUGO "CitGO"

CITGO, GONNA HAVE TO GO..

More on Hugo (loco) Chavez This Just in….

(AP) CARACAS, Venezuela: President Hugo Chavez says his formidable re-election victory proves Venezuela backs socialism, but in the poor slums where his backing is strongest, his supporters take that to mean homes, jobs and a crackdown on crime.

When Chavez sailed to victory on Dec. 3, residents of Caracas’ Los Erasos slums celebrated in their narrow, potholed streets until a gang fight broke out. A 15-year-old girl was killed in crossfire.
“The only thing I hope for from Chavez is that he does away with the anxiety that we live in. The thugs have us under their thumbs. The crime is such that I don’t know if tonight I’ll survive,” says Gabriela Ramirez, a 20-year-old student who said her family sometimes has to dive to the floor when shots begin to ring out after dusk.

Chavez’s 63 to 37 percent triumph this month was the widest victory of his political career and he says it means that Venezuelans like Ramirez “voted for the socialist plan, to build a profoundly different Venezuela.” read on
